Martin was trained as a psychologist and daseinsanalysis psychotherapist. Since 2015 he has worked as a therapist in community outreach mental health services provided by an NGO Práh (The Threshold) in Brno, Czech Republic. Since 2017 he has been involved in an ethnographic research of comunity outreach mental health services and their development in the context of a large reform of psychiatric care that is taking place in the country. As a long term member of the Narativ Association he has been mainly involved in activities connected to the development of Open Dialogue in the Czech Republic.
